Water Baby in pool.JPG

Your first trip to the swimming pool with your baby is such an exciting time, but it can also come with lots of questions.  We’ve put together our top 10 tips to make your first swim go a lot smoother.

1.        Try out the neck floatie at home in the bathtub first, where it is warm and familiar.

2.        Time your visit - go during a not-too-busy time at the pool and after a nap and feeding time.

3.        Wear your swimsuits to the pool (you and baby). Just remember that the swim diapers won’t catch everything!

4.        Neck floaties are great for twins or when you have siblings at the pool as well!

5.        Bring extra towel out onto the pool deck.  Babies get cold quickly.

6.        Bring something for baby to sit in while you get changed (stroller, Bumbo, bouncy chair, etc).

7.        Bring a bag for your wet bathing suits and towels.

8.        Feed as soon as possible after swimming. They’ll be hungry!

9.        Prepare for a nice, long nap afterwards.

10.        Repeat!  The more often you go, the more comfortable you and your baby will become.
